Any Contractors Out There I Need Help!!!!! 🔨🔨🔨🔨🏡🏠

I need help with some small projects around my home. So let me explain what my plans are, I want to start getting some small things fixed around my home at a cheap price so that we can sell the home soon. In our neighborhood right now houses are not being renovated on the inside and prices have dropped a little. So using advice from all the blogs and professionals I follow upgrading and renovating with high end materials in a area that isn’t having this type of work done will not increase the value of my home and no one will purchase our home for the price we want.

Home improvements are very expensive and placing a lot more money into this home when we wont get it back in return just isn’t in the cards, so my goal is to fix the important things at the best way I can.

First on the list is my windows, I don’t want to spend money on new windows for my whole house even if I only have 8 windows. So I was hoping to get advice and referrals of companies that are in Maryland that could help me with this issue.

One day I opened my window and I didn’t feel a difference but I let go thinking it would stay up and it came crashing down very hard. The latch that u push to pull the window into the house and the spring inside that went flying across the room. The metal window frame at the top that holds the latch is bent forward and I didn’t want to press on it because I didn’t want to pressure to break the glass inside the window. So now the window won’t stay closed and air is going out and air coming in.

In order to sell our home I know we need this fixed because if a child was in that bedroom that is very dangerous. So I need any help I can get. Excuse my photos of my dusty window these were before spring cleaning happened lol

This is a photo of the broken latch I placed it on top so I wouldn’t lose it and the top where it is sitting u can see that the frame is bent some.

So if anyone knows a handyman or business that can come out to help fix this so I don’t need to replace the windows would be a great help to me. Thanks

Home Decor 💡🔨

I have been on Pinterest looking at so many home decor ideas and pinning them to my boards to only sit there. I know a lot of us do this, I wish I could have someone come over bring the stuff I need and decorate for me lol. Not to mention pay for it as well. (Just kidding) unless u are giving me a huge gift and have money to share lol.

It is slowly coming together a few months ago I convinced hubby to go with me to get a leather sofa but we decided on the durablend leather material instead because of the dogs nails. A fact I didn’t know is that real leather scratches, not to mention the price of real leather is extremely expensive and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on the sofa.

I ended up finding a sofa at gardiners furniture store. I am so glad I went to see 50 shades of gray that day with friends and one of their friends said go next door and look they have great furniture all price ranges and that is where I found my sofa. Plus it was on sale and no taxes eithe who could beat that but now I am kicking myself because I didn’t get the chair and would like to have the chair but do not want to drive far to the warehouse and delivery is $80.

Anyways I have been buying a few small items when I see them to add to the decor in the living room which I decided will be hints of teals and oranges. My favorite color is purple but I must say I love teal a lot too.

I had seen a lot of people using books as decor on their coffee tables and wanted to see if I could find some in teals and oranges and I finally did and they look so cute I just love them.

Here is a pic

Here is a pic of the pillow I added to my sofa and also the blanket I made for the sofa in the colors I needed.

I am sure I will be writing a update on my living room decor soon again with my new additions. I almost forgot I ordered this from etsy to hang on my wall as well.

I had the etsy shop owner add a little more teal to the middle flower to give me a little more teal.

Guardian Angel Bracelets 👼👼

I don’t know if you have seen the show Housewives of New Jersey. On the show Teresa and her husband are being taken to court and another co-star had brought her a handmade guardian angel bracelet. When I see this bracelet I knew I would have to contact anyone related to Nettie Laurita and found her twitter page. She was very helpful etc
She can make these glasses in several colors and style. Well below are
Some if her designs and creations.

Diy spray paint or dye furniture 💜💙🔨

I need to see if rit makes a color to dye a section of my sofa that has faded due to the sun. I love keeping my curtains open but with that comes a price to pay my sofa lost the red color and is white. So looking on Pinterest I found some cheap ways to extend the life of my sofa.
Here is a pick of the side facing my patio doors.

So here are a few pics that I got from Pinterest and the rit website of others that have used the dye since my sofa isn’t a slip cover I have to dab it and since we won’t be sitting on that side I painted it shouldn’t have to be rinsed off but we will see how it goes. I stopped at joann fabrics and picked up two colors I thought would match going to wait to get my husbands thoughts on which will match the best.

You can’t tell by the pics which one will match the best but cherry red is a little darker color so need more peoples input but if no one will be able to see it really I guess it won’t matter much since it is still by the window.

Diy outdoor furniture 🔨

I wish I had a bigger deck and could build one of these cool benches. I found these on Pinterest. Not sure which websites they came from to give credit to the website or photographer.
These are such cute additions to any deck and easy to do according to the blogs.

Have you noticed

I am not sure if it is just me that has noticed this pattern or if anyone else has also seen a pattern at goodwill and local thrift stores. I swear there is a team on employees that must monitor blogs and Pinterest to see what the hottest trends and styles are because I have noticed several items going up in price. Has anyone else seen prices going up on certain items?

A Perfect Pair: Fabric Decoupage Book Ends

Mod Podge your Bookends

On The Upcycle~

I found these ordinary bookends in the housewares aisle at a thrift shop near home.  It was the only item I felt compelled to buy on this day, and they were priced right at $1.99.  Lately, I have made it a goal to begin to organize my crafting space, and these little book ends would help alleviate some of “the bookcase overload” this room is experiencing. Of course they were in need of a little restyling flare. Right now the craft room is more of a storage room, so these book ends are a very small step in the right direction, but  I am determined.  Stay tuned!

Knife-block redo and barstool upcycle

Upcycled knife block and More

Crafty Madre

My wife suggested I paint our knife-block but I hesitated for a bit because it came with a expensive knife set from SharpenedKnife that my parents gave me. But you can’t win if you don’t play, right?  And she found this cool example and sent me the Pin, so I couldn’t resist.

And the first picture is an awesome bar stool turned (literally) into wrapping paper storage. We got the idea from Pinterest (where else?) and then the wife happened across a somewhat broken stool at a huge tag sale to benefit a local animal shelter. I promised to make the stool into a wrapping paper caddy if she promised not to bring home another dog. Here’s the inspiration for the stool:

I tried out Crackle for the first time on both of these.  It was actually kind of a ruse for the wife’s benefit. She’s much more…

Cozy Coupe re-do

Cozy Coupe Redo

I'm that Momma

Recently I was gathering a load of junk to take to my local recycle center. As I added my 4 year old daughters cozy coupe to my load she threw a fit that she wanted to keep it. It had sat on the side of my house for 2 years and was full of gunk, wet leaves, a few slugs and to my horror, a small brown snake! She was so upset that I was going to toss her car, and I didn’t want to mess with it until the snake found a new home, so I decided to keep it so my daughter and I could fix it up together. I didn’t get a before picture but after the snake was gone we took it apart and sprayed it down.

After a spray down, it was still disgusting and needed a good washing. With the help of my trusty…
