Any Contractors Out There I Need Help!!!!! πŸ”¨πŸ”¨πŸ”¨πŸ”¨πŸ‘🏠

I need help with some small projects around my home. So let me explain what my plans are, I want to start getting some small things fixed around my home at a cheap price so that we can sell the home soon. In our neighborhood right now houses are not being renovated on the inside and prices have dropped a little. So using advice from all the blogs and professionals I follow upgrading and renovating with high end materials in a area that isn’t having this type of work done will not increase the value of my home and no one will purchase our home for the price we want.

Home improvements are very expensive and placing a lot more money into this home when we wont get it back in return just isn’t in the cards, so my goal is to fix the important things at the best way I can.

First on the list is my windows, I don’t want to spend money on new windows for my whole house even if I only have 8 windows. So I was hoping to get advice and referrals of companies that are in Maryland that could help me with this issue.

One day I opened my window and I didn’t feel a difference but I let go thinking it would stay up and it came crashing down very hard. The latch that u push to pull the window into the house and the spring inside that went flying across the room. The metal window frame at the top that holds the latch is bent forward and I didn’t want to press on it because I didn’t want to pressure to break the glass inside the window. So now the window won’t stay closed and air is going out and air coming in.

In order to sell our home I know we need this fixed because if a child was in that bedroom that is very dangerous. So I need any help I can get. Excuse my photos of my dusty window these were before spring cleaning happened lol

This is a photo of the broken latch I placed it on top so I wouldn’t lose it and the top where it is sitting u can see that the frame is bent some.

So if anyone knows a handyman or business that can come out to help fix this so I don’t need to replace the windows would be a great help to me. Thanks

Garage Apartment πŸ‘πŸ πŸ”¨πŸ”¨

We currently live in a townhouse, I love my house but there are things I wish I would have needed when we were looking at houses 15 yrs ago. We said we would only be here five years and then move and here we are 15 years later in the same home. One thing I don’t like about the house we live in currently is that we do not have a basement.

Having a basement would give us so much more room and I don’t think I would want to move if we had a basement. Well we are thinking about getting our home ready to sell but it will take some time. We joke all the time with my mom that we will build a large apartment over her garage and live there lol.

I was on Pinterest and found some examples of what I could build on top of the garage which is a two car garage. One example of a one car garage but I saved it because I loved the little screened in porch etc.

I am not sure which websites the photos came from to give them credit for photos.

I totally wish I had the money to start building this apartment over the garage, I don’t even know if I could I am sure permits would have to be pulled and more. But a girl can dream

Painting Home Decor πŸŽ¨πŸŽ¨πŸŽ¨πŸŽ¨

I have had a hard time finding items that will look good in my living room. I decided to get a new durablend/ leather sofa and it is great if u own a dog. I have a beagle who sheds a lot.

I decided to take coupons I had at ac moore and purchase the canvas squares so that I could paint my own home decor and also picked up the paint colors I wanted while we were there.

I pointed the squares in teal and started from that point I like one for sure but the other two could use some work I think so I may go to Joann fabrics to get some fabric and cover up the ones I didn’t like.

Here is some pictures of my work

Donations of baby hats πŸ‘’πŸŽ©πŸ‘Ά

I have started to make baby hats for the local hospital with a loom I purchased from walmart. I had a ton of yarn so why not make hats and donate them. One hospital couldn’t take any more donations so I started giving them to another hospital in Baltimore.
Here are some pics I took of the hats I made.

Bathroom Improvements πŸ‘πŸ”¨πŸ”¨

If u haven’t seen my other post about the tile that I added to my shower in my upstairs bathroom you will have to check it out. I had left over tile from that project and was just a little short on tile but all I had to do was buy one tile for $4 at Home Depot.
I decided since I had leftovers of tile that I put it to good use. A few years ago we had to replace the bathroom vanity and when we did Hubby decided to change the vanity to a taller one which meant we needed to create a shelf to attach to the wall and the bathroom vanity top.
So since then I had always wanted to put something on the shelf like sea glass or tile etc so when I had left over from my shower project it was time to lay a few pieces down and see how it looked and it looked great.

The photos above are the before pics of the bathroom and shelf. When we initially started this bathroom remodel hubby told me my idea of tile or sea glass wouldn’t work. I think he was just being lazy and didn’t want me to put him to work lol. As a quick fix he went and got this silver type of paper that we could place on the wood shelf to make it look better, and it has held up but I always had in the back of my mind the ideas I had for the shelf so after i seen how easy it was to install the tile in the shower it was obvious that I was going to make my dream come true and tile the shelf.
Hubby didn’t even know I tiled it cause I did it within a few min while he was at softball.
We are so happy with how it turned out and now I know if I can and have the tools to do the project myself lol. I am sure hubby doesn’t mind since he works hard and doesn’t want to come home to construction ideas I came up with or seen on Pinterest. Posted below are pics of the process prior to placing the tile u can see blue paint that’s because we tried painting the shelf at first but it didn’t work out well.

The pictures below are the process of placing the tile down to the shelf with adhesive and grouting.

I think my bathroom project turned out and gave it the last touch I needed and had been dreaming about for years now.

Diy spray paint or dye furniture πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ”¨

I need to see if rit makes a color to dye a section of my sofa that has faded due to the sun. I love keeping my curtains open but with that comes a price to pay my sofa lost the red color and is white. So looking on Pinterest I found some cheap ways to extend the life of my sofa.
Here is a pick of the side facing my patio doors.

So here are a few pics that I got from Pinterest and the rit website of others that have used the dye since my sofa isn’t a slip cover I have to dab it and since we won’t be sitting on that side I painted it shouldn’t have to be rinsed off but we will see how it goes. I stopped at joann fabrics and picked up two colors I thought would match going to wait to get my husbands thoughts on which will match the best.

You can’t tell by the pics which one will match the best but cherry red is a little darker color so need more peoples input but if no one will be able to see it really I guess it won’t matter much since it is still by the window.
